Naimat completed his Bachelor's (2012) and Master's (2014) degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi India. In his M.Pharm, he worked on the delivery of drug molecules through the intra-nasal route (Polymeric nanoparticle-based drug delivery system). He also carried out work in the pharmaceutical industry (Ranbaxy Pvt India Ltd, Now acquired by Sun Pharmaceuticals) on the development of solid dispersion for antiviral drugs.
He completed his Ph.D. (2020) under the supervision of Prof. Sharmistha Sinha at the Chemical Biology Unit of the Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali, Punjab, India. In his Ph.D., he worked on the biophysical and nanobiotechnological aspect of a bacterial organelle referred to as bacterial Microcompartment. He has interdisciplinary research training in Chemical Biology, Nanobiotechnology, Biophysical characterization of proteins, Bio-inorganic hybrids development, Drug delivery, and Nano-formulation.
In his postdoctoral work at MicroN BASE Lab, he will explore the potential of different nano-topographies as novel antibacterial agents.
In his free time, he loves cooking and reading. He especially enjoys blending the tastes of different geographical locations to get something new.
