Nathan Grega Larson

Nathan attended the College of William and Mary where he received a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience in 2010. While at William and Mary, he performed undergraduate research in the laboratory of Professor Lisa Landino studying reactive oxygen species and their role in neurodegenerative diseases. Also, during college, he received a DAAD-RISE summer fellowship to do research with Professor Arndt Rolfs in Rostock, Germany, where he studied small molecules that affect the Wnt signaling pathway. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, he moved to Nashville, TN for graduate school at Vanderbilt University, where he did his Ph.D. work in the lab of Dr. Matt Tyska in the Cell and Developmental Biology department. In the Tyska lab, he used confocal and super-resolution microscopy in combination with biochemistry to study actin dynamics in the intestinal brush border. Following the completion of his Ph.D in 2016, Nathan worked as an account manager for Nikon Instruments in the Chicago and Nashville areas for several years selling and supporting Nikon microscope systems. In his free time, Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing and watching basketball, and cooking.
